For the most part, Spring has as much energy as summer. I like the bee and the vibrant color scheme.
Consider what the portrait's purpose is, though; the faded monochrome clashes with the bright colors, interrupting the gestalt. If there's a way to darken the photo, to make the tone look crisper and newer, then the interruption won't happen. Otherwise, if you took it out and centered the bee image, then the bookmark would represent spring just as well.
